The Community & Event Coordinator OPPORTUNITY...

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Community & Events Coordinator will be responsible to develop and oversee all efforts related to community programs, grassroots events, promotion programs, and event creation and participation. In line with SAXX's brand direction, you will be the driving force in how experiences are to be delivered and how to measure this impact. In conjunction with sales, you will develop and oversee trade shows and sales meetings to support SAXX's wholesale channel.

  • Direct and oversee all SAXX trade shows & consumer facing events including but not limited to sales meetings, tradeshows, buying group events and retailer events, festivals, and community events
  • Upon approval by Marketing Director, coordinate booth contracts, official contractor order forms and any promotions for each show
  • Oversee independent agency on install and dismantle of booth
  • Coordinate hotel reservations and badges for marketing, product and sales group
  • Communicating discrepancies with buyers and account managers to modify orders
  • Organize product orders and presentation with product and sales managers
  • Coordinate availability of promotional giveaway items with sales and PR managers
  • Attend all tradeshows & events to oversee set-up and tear-down, product receipt, display, event collateral and returns
  • Perform outreach activities, including developing and maintaining relationships with key community influencers and other media. Leverage those relationships and opportunities where appropriate (i.e - help with local events, social media contributions in partnership with social media manager)
  • Coordinate event contracts, order forms and any promotions for each event
  • Work with PR agency to leverage press opportunities at all events and activations
  • Responsible for all communication to internal stakeholders
  • Responsible for all communication during and post event to be used for commercial use
  • Establishing and monitoring event budgets in conjunction and with approval from Marketing Director
  • Research and identify relevant events and tradeshows that support company goals and objectives
Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Minimum 3 years marketing experience with a focus in event management and/or promotions, preferably with an apparel-related company. Bachelor's degree or degree from trade school in relevant field.
  • Proven skills in planning, time management, prioritization, problem solving, decision-making and communication - both written and verbal. Acute attention to detail is also imperative.
  • Strong background in event activations
  • Ability to speak and present to a large group.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, self-directed and outgoing personality
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to manage & execute schedule for all projects
  • Willing to travel extensively, work weekends and/or long hours.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Team oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to work hard.
  • Understanding, interest, and participation in action/outdoor sports and youth culture.
