It isn’t just underwear. It’s a bona fide art form. Operating out of Portland, Oregon, our uber-talented design team is all about keeping it weird and, of course, creative.
DROPTEMP™ HOT SHOT Boxer Brief
SAXX designers, Chris and Marty, wanted to amplify the “cool” factor of our new DropTemp™ launch through a distinct print POV influenced by all things cold and refreshing. In designing Polar Bear Resortwear, Marty’s ridiculous sense of humor comes through loud and clear in her graphic expression of polar bears outfitted for their tropical holiday. Chris, on the other hand, is a technology-driven graphic designer and he executed Iceberg Stripe – a trippy photo-real collage – mixing icebergs and a glowing sultry sun plunging into the frigid ocean.Buy Now
VOLT Boxer Brief AND 2-PACK
Mike, one of SAXX’s freelance print designers, was the perfect go-to for our Dorado Partay print. Mike is a crazy-talented artist with a trippy hippy flair, and on top of that, is an avid fisherman too. Dorado Partay is a funky f-ed up Florida dreamscape. Mike hand-rendered flying mahi-mahi and manta rays soaring above a tropical palm tree landscape, tossing in rum-soaked tiki drinks to put this sun-drunk high-voltage print over the top. It ended up looking so awesome we are offering it in two colors!Buy Now
VIBE Boxer Brief
Earth Day is Every Day was designed by our in-house designer, Marty. She took her very-clean graphic aesthetic and built a “sticker pack” styled print with multiple mini graphics and messages to encourage you to reflect upon the world around you. Marty has a huge soft spot for animals, and as a Pacific NW native, an inherent appreciation for the outdoors and wanting to protect what we have here. She wants you to do the same.Buy Now
ULTRA Boxer Brief, 2N1’s
In-house designer, Patty, was thinking out of this world when she designed Astro Surf & Turf. Patty is a fine artist, but that does not mean she is overly serious about anything she approaches. This traditional looking toile (pronounced “twahl”) is anything but! Pushing the outer limits with a space age twist, this super-nutty print demands you take a closer look. We love it so much we are offering it in Ultra and both of our new Swim 2N1 styles - Oh Buoy and Betawave.Buy Now

SAXX is celebrating our Canadian roots with this pucking awesome penalty box print. SAXX designer, Chris, is multifaceted in his skills - outside of work he is a fine artist with a left-of-center graphic-novel cartoon style. Mouthing-off with his hand-illustrated Puck Tooth print, he is showing-off all the crooked smiles that have fallen victim to their love of hockey and the dangers that come with it - high-sticking, spearing, boarding, tripping, elbowing… For all the hockey lovers out there, Chris wants you to say it like you mean it.Buy Now
Nathan McKee is an artist and illustrator who lives and works in Portland, Oregon. McKee is a fine artist, not at all interested in modern technique or computer-generated work. Instead, he makes incredibly intricate hand-cut paper “illustrations,” which he creates using scissors and X-acto blades.
His subject matter is very close to his heart and is based on a nostalgia growing up in the 80’s - surfing, skateboarding, hip hop and music, with an emphasis on sports, especially basketball. He has exhibited in LA, New York, Chicago and Tokyo, and collaborated with clients including Converse, Adidas, Puma, the Trailblazers, Thrasher and the Ace Hotel.
BETAWAVE, VOLT RIDING GIANTS
OH BUOY – DAWN PATROL
We collaborated for both Swim and Volt, and we’re just super excited with what he came back with. The Riding Giants print shows off the minute detail of his work, and we can actually see the texture of the paper he used in the artwork.
For Oh Buoy, he designed Dawn Patrol, illustrating surfers in their wetsuits waiting for the next big wave.
EARTH DAY/GIVE BACK CAMPAIGN WITH PLASTIC BANK
This is a custom print Nathan designed for our Earth Day campaign. We will be hooking-up with The Plastic Bank once again to help prevent ocean plastic while supporting collector communities around the world. Focusing on the health of our water creatures, we illustrated hermit crabs living out of plastic bottles and Styrofoam cups. As cool and fun as the print is, it carries a deeper message.Coming April 2021
